Meet our Team
EVAN HORNER
Owner/Director
Montreal & West Island
Evan Horner
My name is Evan Horner, and I am thrilled to introduce my program, SportLife! My business degree in Finance will allow me to follow my career aspirations of running a sports program.
My passions have always included working with children and participating in sports, and by merging those interests, I came up with the idea of SportLife. My vision is to create a realistic and entertaining sports program, by allowing children to simulate the career of professional athletes.
My experience has included being a camp counselor, sports specialist, sports program supervisor, ice hockey referee and double letter minor hockey coach. Therefore, I understand what young athletes want out of their sports program.
I look forward to showcasing what the SportLife experience is all about, and I promise that your children will have the most memorable summer of their lives! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
TREVOR ARAUJO
Camp Director
Montreal Campus
Trevor Araujo
My name is Trevor Araujo and I joined the SportLife team as a Coach in Summer 2019. I was later given the opportunity to open up our second location in the Summer of 2020, in Montreal. We are now entering into our 5th summer there!
I hold a Bachelor of Education in Physical & Health Education from McGill University. During my time in University, I worked for varsity athletics in media, statistics, & design, which was a great outlet for my creativity. I was also an Intramural Coordinator in those years, running tournaments and managing staff in McGill’s extra-curricular leagues.
I accredit a ton of my success and leadership abilities to my time spent playing multiple team sports throughout my youth years. I have also coached & taught a majority of team sports in my career thus far. I believe that exposure to as many team sports as possible can only benefit an athlete!
Working with SportLife has given me both the personal and professional challenge of combining my backgrounds in sports, education & media in the best way possible. I look forward to continuing to help SportLife grow & improve!
HELEN VITSENTZATOS
Camp Director
West Island Campus
Helen Vitsentzatos
I’m Helen Vitsentzatos and I started at SportLife in the fall of 2018, first as a basketball coach, until I joined the day camp team as a supervisor for the Rookie program in the summer of 2019. Four years later, in my fifth year at the SportLife West Island location, I became a camp director.
Growing up, I played high-level inter-city soccer and ringette, as well as GMAA Div. 2 basketball and flag football. I would have loved to have gone to a camp like SportLife when I was younger! I’ve also coached bantam girls’ basketball, soccer, and flag football teams at West Island College. I started working at summer day camps when I was 15 years old and now have almost 10 years of summer camp experience.
When I studied education at McGill, I never thought that I would one day be able to make working at a summer camp into my full-time job, but every child who has come to SportLife over the years has made that career my reality. My favorite part of getting to work at SportLife is being able to create lasting memories in young athletes as I watch them develop and grow year after year.
I am so looking forward to being a part of SportLife’s 11th year and I can’t wait to continue to learn and grow in this company!
